Metacognitive

During the month of May I was going through a dilemma of whether or not I should take the course TSTM 544 during the Summer. I am trying to graduate next year around May or August and I knew that I would not have the time or the schedule space to fit it in anywhere else due to the next few semesters of 18 hours a piece. So I decided to take out a loan and take the class over the summer within a month. I found this course to be at an extremely fast paced in which I rather enjoyed because I felt like I was able to stay on top of it better than I did with TSTM 444. I felt that since 444 was spread out all over the semester I tended to forget about it or just not focus as much attention on it as I did with my other classes last semester and it almost cost me.

I felt like I learned a lot from this course, in which I could understand a lot more about assessment and analysis and how I can help improve the skills of workers. I felt like we were analyzing a lot during this course and I also felt like the Searchable Content Objects Reference Model played a big role in enhancing the e-learning environment. I could get into more since there is the front end analysis and a lot of testing and implementation that was involved, but I felt like the best example was the extra credit assignments available in which I was to help get involved with the training seminar taught over the last few days.

I was at this seminar from 9-4 everyday for the most part and was literally there whenever Dr. Keane was there and trying to implement the best training course for these clients. The first day we only had two clients show up and I honestly thought that this was way too much work for just two people and I felt like it was unfair for the teacher considering how much work she has put into this program this summer. Although, all of that changed on Tuesday whenever several other clients showed up and were all enthusiastic on learning new material about technology, I felt that this was a great motivation for the class and I felt a lot better for Dr. Keane considering this is what we need if this was to ever continue for another session the following year. I really enjoyed getting to know a few of the clients in that class and I felt that they took a lot away from it as well. I was glad to be a part of the whole that was TSTM 544 and I can only hope that the last few classes I have this year will be just as interesting and informative.
